During the presentation of projects by the Electric Transport Service, its general director, Martín López Delgado, detailed that this system—now called the Axolotl Route—will be one of the main transport axes to address the high demand during the World Cup. Among the main actions are: a new terminal in Taxqueña with three platforms, which will allow for coupled train operations; a reduction of up to 30% in travel times; the modernization of seven stations on the Azteca Stadium to Xochimilco stretch; the installation of awnings, signage, and tactile guides; the implementation of universal accessibility with mobile lifts. It is expected that these works will be completed by the third week of April, while full operation will begin in early May. More trains and greater capacity. As part of the project, 17 new light trains have already been acquired, with an investment of nearly 1,400 million pesos.
